Abstract:

ABSTRACT Primary glomerulonephritis, which has complex causes, is a group of diseases characterized by glomerular damage. It can be caused by kidney itself as well as secondary to systemic diseases. The treatment of primary glomerulonephritis includes corticosteroids and immune suppressive agents both of which may lead to severe side effects. How to treat these patients safely and effectively by these drugs is one of the problems nephrologists often face to in their daily work. In recent years, more and more studies showed that urinary biomarkers had potential values in predicting the effect and prognosis of glomerulonephritis, thus can help clinicians choose an effective and safe way and also provide new concepts and ideas in clinical work. This article will review the clinical significance of urinary biomarkers in patients with primary glomerulonephritis.
