Abstract:

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a clonal plasma cell proliferative disorder with significant cytogenetic heterogeneity,which has high morbidity and different clinical outcome between individuals,making it relatively difficult to treat with traditional chemotherapy agents.In recent years,with the further understanding of tumorigenicity,cytogenetic and molecular biology,the criteria for the diagnosis of MM, the prognosis and risk stratification of patients have been updated.Combining with the application of new drugs and combination chemotherapy regimens,it is possible to individualize prescription of medical treatment for MM patients in the near future.This article summarizes the recent advances in the diagnosis,riskstratification and management of MM.
