Abstract: COVID-19 can cause tissue and organ damage through a variety of mechanisms, including direct viral invasion, endothelial cell damage, imbalance of immune system regulation, and dysfunction of the renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS). Although COVID-19 is mainly characterized by lung injury, the incidence of acute kidney injury is as high as 50% in critically ill patients, the possible glomerular diseases caused by it should not be ignored. In this article, we review the clinical manifestations and pathologic features of COVID-19 associated glomerular diseases reported in literature in the past 3 years, and explore potential mechanisms of renal injury caused by COVID-19.
