Abstract: N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is the most common type of post-transcriptional RNA modification in eukaryotic cells, which can regulate the splicing, stability and translatability of RNA, thereby playing a pivotal role in the regulation of various biological processes and in the development of various diseases. In recent years, a large number of studies have reported that m6A is closely related to kidney diseases, such as acute kidney injury, obstructive nephropathy and diabetic nephropathy. This review mainly includes the concept, mechanism of m6A and its research progress in kidney diseases.
