Abstract: Metabolic diseases such as obesity and chronic kidney disease will be an important chronic disease threatening human health, showing a rapid growth in China. Typical obesity-related glomerulopathy has its special histomorphologic features and clinical manifestations, however, there are also other chronic glomerular and tubulointerstitial kidney disease coexist with obesity. This article focuses on the epidemiologic features of obesity in CKD, possible pathogenic mechanisms, and traditional and innovative therapeutic approaches.
