Abstract:

Abstract Acute kidney injury has now been a public health issue. Although great progress has taken place in the field of supportive treatment, the mortality and morbidity remain practically high level. To enhance the restricted regeneration capacity of kidney, some researches have attempted to apply mesenchymal stem cells of separate sources to treat acute kidney injury. These researches all manifest mesenchymal stem cells possess the ability of directional differentiation to damaged tissue cells and paracrine, which suggests promising prospect of repairing organs with acute damage. In this review, we are going to discuss the potential mechanism of mesenchymal stem cells promoting the regeneration of kidney tissue and their clinical applications.
