Abstract:

ABSTRACT: With the morbidity increasing worldwide, diabetic nephropathy is becoming one of the most common causes of end stage renal disease. The pathological changes are of great importance for understanding the development and progression of diseases. However, diabetic nephropathy was an ignored disease in the historical era. Recently a pathologic classification of diabetic nephropathy has been launched on behalf of Renal Pathology Society. But its value in the prediction of clinical outcome is largely undetermined. More researches combing histological and clinical findings will further help us to understand the pathogenesis of this disease and improve clinical management.
