Abstract:

Fungal peritonitis (FP) is a serious complication of peritoneal dialysis whichs cause high mortality. In recent years, there has been a shift in the pathogen spectrum from Candida albicans to non-albicans Candida species, which is closely associated with long-term antibiotic use, hypoalbuminemia, diabetes mellitus and other risk factors. The detection of traditional fungal culture is lagging behind, and the metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) can achieve early diagnosis; the clinical core plan is to remove the dialysis catheter as soon as possible and carry out individualized antifungal therapy, prophylactic antifungal therapy in high-risk groups. Prophylactic antifungal therapy can reduce the risk of disease. This article reviews the etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of FP, and provides evidence-based reference for clinical standardized diagnosis and treatment.
