Abstract: In chronic kidney disease (CKD) can lead to endothelial dysfunction,vascular calcification and increased release of extracellular vesicles (EV) which promote the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD). EV plays an important role in this process and serves as diagnostic biomarkers, therapeutic approach and drug delivery carriers. This article reviewed the mechanism, application and prospect of EV in the development of CVD in patients with CKD.
