Abstract: Nuclear factor erythroid 2 related factor 2 (Nrf2) is a transcription factor that regulates the expression of a vast array of cytoprotective genes including antioxidant and antiinflammatory genes.Strategy aimed at restoring Nrf2 activity could potentially retard chronic kidney disease progression.This review focuses on the research progress of the Nrf2 signaling pathway,its role in renal diseases,and the clinical application of Nrf2 agonists.
