Abstract:

Objective:To study the factors relating to autogenous arteriovenous fistula (AVF) dysfunction in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients.
Methodology:A total of 145 MHD patients with autogenous AVF and treated in this hospital were included in the study. Doppler Ultrasonography(DU) was used to examine the AVF function in MHD patients on the interval day.Monitoring indexes:blood flow, pulsation index(PI),resistance index(RI),anastomosis diameter and complications of AVF.According to the function of AVF,patients were divided into wellfunctional group (116 cases) and dysfunctional group (29 cases).Clinical datas and doppler indexs were compared between the two groups.
Results:Age,anastomosis diamete, blood flow of brachial artery, blood flow of radial artery,PI of brachial artery,PI of radial artery,RI of brachial artery,RI of radial artery were significantly different between patients with wellfunctional AVF and those with dysfunctional AVF (P<0.05).Binary logistic regression analysis showed that blood flow of brachial artery and anastomosis diamete are important factors relating to dysfunctional AVF.
Conclusion:
Blood flow of brachial artery and anastomosis diamete are important factors relating to dysfunctional AVF,they are also the main factors affecting the poor function of forearm AVF.The DU examination could provide basis and references for  early intervention of AVF dysfunction.
