Abstract:

Abstract: Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the main causes of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Current treatments may slow but usually can’t arrest it progression toward ESRD. In recent years, with the rapid progress of stem cell research, the cell therapy have demonstrated its potential value in DN. This article includes an overview of the recent research of endothelial progenitor cells, mesenchymal stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells and islet cell transplantation in DN.
