Abstract:

ABSTRACT   The podocyte, an important barrier of glomerular filter, is considered to be the central point of developing proteinuria. The effect of immunosuppressants on proteinuria reduction and podocyte injury reverse urged people to find its direct role on podocyte besides its immunosuppression. Does the podocyte have immune cells-like characters? Or how does the podocyte respond to inflammatory reaction in pathological condition? The solution to these questions will be helpful to investigate the mechanism and find therapeutic methods of podocyte injury.
