Abstract: Currently, the Chinese hemodialysis market is encountering a great growth opportunity; but meanwhile, the challenges in controlling medicare spending, allocating medical source, and improving quality may also be encountered. Therefore, how to juggle healthcare quality and hemodialysis services payment will certainly be a great topic in Health Care Policy and Reform soon. Herein, we looked back on the changes of US. End-stage kidney disease program over the past 50 years and descripted the Quality Incentive Program in detail. Using Quality Incentive Program as reference, we recommended to construct our hemodialysis quality control data system to supervise the hemodialysis quality-of-care indicators. Constructing the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System might be a good approach to promote the reform of China medical care system and hemodialysis industry.
