Abstract:

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is characterized by glomerulosclerosis, tubulointerstitial fibrosis and renal vascular lesions.Tubulointerstitium account for 90% of renal volume, and tubule plays important role in renal function.Under the condition of diabetes, the renal tubules are affected by metabolic disorders, inflammation, proteinuria, hemodynamic changes and so on,these changes lead tubules to oxidative stress, cytokines secretion and finally lead to interstitial fibrosis.Tubules participate in and promote the progression of DN.So,illustrating the mechanism of tubulointerstitial lesions, finding drug targets will be of therapeutic implication. In this review,we will summarize the recent researches in this field.
