Abstract:

The relationships among proteinuria, hypertension and renal function are complex, because of their reciprocal causation and mutual influence. Proteinuria, even microalbuminuria may indicate a rise of blood pressure, which leads to the increase of urinary protein excretion. Renal dysfunction may be the result of longterm hypertension as well as the reason for hypertension. Proteinuria directly affects the prognosis of renal diseases. This paper mainly will summarize the complex relationships among the three factors.

Key words: proteinuria, hypertension, renal function
