Abstract:

ABSTRACT: Cast nephropathy is the major cause of acute kidney injury in multiple myeloma, which should be treated as a medical emergency with prompt diagnosis and intervention to avoid irreversible renal failure. This article will review the diagnosis and management of cast nephropathy. The importance of serum light chain measurement and mainly introducing bortezomib-based chemotherapy and high cut-off hemodialysis should be emphasized.
