Abstract: αKlotho is mainly expressed in proximal renal tubular epithelial cells, which has many biological functions, such as regulating calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D metabolism, antiinflammatory, antioxidant and anti apoptotic. Especially in improving renal ischemiareperfusion injury and fibrosis, it plays an important role. Recent years, it has attracted more and more attention in the field of renal transplantation. Its blood and tissue levels are considered to be directly related tofunction of transplanted kidney, NFκB and Wnt/βCatenin signaling pathways may be involved, and some intervention measures also gradually emerge. In this paper, we will discuss research progress of αKlotho in the field of renal transplantation, in order to provide new intervention targets for improving allograft function and prognosis of renal transplant recipient.
