Abstract:
Cognitive impairment is common in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and is associated with worse survival. Although recent researches have suggested that vascular disease are one of the most important mechanisms, the pathogenesis of cognitive impairment in individuals with CKD remains elusive. Lager sample, more center and longer followups are needed to convince it. Therefore, clinicians should be aware of the high rates of cognitive impairment that occur in all stages of CKD, explore possible preventive treatments and intervene pointedly to improve quality of life of these patients.
