Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the efficacy and safety of Eluvia drug-eluting stent in the treatment of venous anastomotic stenosis in arteriovenous grafts. Methods: In this retrospective caseseries study, clinical data of 23 patients receiving Eluvia drug-eluting stent for venous anastomotic stenosis of prosthetic graft arteriovenous fistula at the Department of Vascular Surgery, Longhua Hospital, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from November 2023 to March 2025 were retrospectively reviewed. Results: Twenty-three patients (9 males and 14 females) with a mean age of 59.3±14.1 years (range, 31-81 years) were retrospectively included. Venous anastomotic stenosis was identified in 19 cases and venous anastomotic occlusion in 4 cases on angiography. Following stent implantation, the mean follow-up duration was 15.9±4.6 months. The 6-month primary target lesion patency rate was 87.0%, and the 12-month primary target lesion patency rate was 77.8%. The secondary access patency rate was 100% at both 6 months and 12 months. No in-stent stenosis was observed in any stent. The collateral vessels and reflux veins at the stent site remained patent in 8 patients. Transarticular stent placement was performed in 5 cases, without stent kinking or fracture. Conclusion: The Eluvia drug-eluting stent achieves satisfactory target lesion patency and reduces the incidence of target lesion reintervention when treating venous anastomotic stenosis of arteriovenous grafts.
