Abstract: Arteriovenous fistulas serve as the preferred permanent vascular access type for maintenance hemodialysis patients, stenosis is the main complication, which may lead to increased morbidity and mortality. In recent years, brachiocephalic fistulas are increasing year by year in China, cephalic arch stenosis (CAS) is the most common complication. Due to its special anatomical structure and geometric configuration, there are many differences in pathogenesis, clinical feature and treatment from stenosis in other parts. In this review we sunnarized research progress of CAS in recent years.
