Abstract:
A patient with calcific uremic arteriopathy was reported in June 2018,who mainly characterized by terrible ischemic necrosis of bilateral toes with severe pain, and multiple ulcers of the system. In the first month of comprehensive treatment with sodium thiosulfate (Zhong Da protocol),the pain of the patient was significantly relieved and the small ulcer was improved. However, the necrosis of the left foot deep to bone surface still progresses malignantly with repeated infection. Multidisciplinary consultation suggested amputation. For the reasons of family and social, the patient was not amputated and continued to receive standard treatment at our followup. One year later, the patients foot necrosis was completely healed, and the systemic lesions were controlled. Strict and standardized use of sodium thiosulfate is of great significance for the treatment of patients with calciphylaxis.
