Abstract:

With the ageing population, changing of lifestyles and dietary structure, the morbidity of metabolic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) and hypertension has increased by years, thus further increasing the risk of kidney disease, and presenting a globally increasing trend.Researches showed that occurrence of proteinuria, unbalanced metabolism, intestinal dysbiosis and abnormal hormone levels are associated with kidney damage in obese individuals.Inflammation is promoted and glomerular sclerosis and tubular interstitial atrophy are accelerated.Therapies to obesity related glomerulopathy mainly include dietary intervention and regular exercise, and oral drugs, bariatric surgery for specific people.Future studies should be focus on the pathogenesis between obesity and chronic renal disease to retard the progression of obesity related kidney disease.
