Abstract:
Catheterrelated complications are among the main reasons for peritoneal dialysis (PD) failure, including PD catheterrelated mechanical complications (such as migration, leakage, obstruction, hernia, visceral injury and hemorrhage) and infections which contain exitsite infection (ESI) and tunnel infection. Clinicians should be familiar with the clinical manifestations of catheterrelated complications, timely find them and early treat them. In order to decrease the occurrence of catheterrelated complications and improve PD patients longterm outcome, for highrisk patients, taking effective preventive measures would be worked. In this paper, we reviewed the etiology, clinical manifestations, treatment and prevention of PD catheterrelated complications.
