Abstract:
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is very common in clinic. The renal replacement therapy (RRT) for AKI consists of hemodialysis (HD), hemofiltration (HF) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) at home and abroad especially in the developed countries. The role of peritoneal dialysis (PD) in AKI is often overlooked. In this paper, we reviewed the clinical and research progress of peritoneal dialysis in AKI in recent years, such as the applicability of peritoneal dialysis, the opportunity of the peritoneal dialysis, choice of access and dialysis fluid, peritoneal dialysis prescription, complications, and the application in children with AKI.
