Abstract:

[Abstract] Critically ill patients usually require continuous renal replacement treatment (CRRT). Different type of buffer solution may have different influence on acid-base-electrolyte balance as well as clinical prognosis. We aimed to review the benefit and disadvantage of lactate, bicarbonate as well as citrate buffer solutions, and how to choose these buffer solutions in different critically ill patients.
