Abstract: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a global health burden.Despite extensive attention to prevention of CKD and its complex comorbidities, the risk factors of CKD are incompletely understood.Sleep disorder can cause circadian rhythm disorders and sleep deprivation, which ultimately lead to  progression of CKD.Healthy people with short sleep duration are at increased risk of CKD compared to those without sleep deficiency.Metabolism disorder might be one of the mechanisms responsible for CKD progression induced by sleep deficiency.Improvement of the duration and quality of sleep might associate with delaying the progression of CKD.
