Abstract:
Micro-inflammation state is observed in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), especially those receiving long-term peritoneal dialysis (PD). In recent years, the inflammation is strongly associated with common complication of chronic kidney disease, such as cardiovascular disease and malnutrition。The level of inflammatory markers have been shown consistently to be a powerful predictor of mortality and adverse cardiovascular outcomes in patients with PD. In this article, the potential causes, pathophysiological mechanisms and control measures of micro- in?ammation in PD patients were reviewed.
