Advances of claudin family in kidney disease

Abstract: As an important metabolic organ, the kidney plays an important role in water and salt metabolism, acid-base homeostasis and homeostasis maintenance, which are highly dependent on the ion transport function of renal glomeruli and tubular epithelial cells. Claudin protein expression abnormalities have been associated with a variety of renal diseases. Understanding the expression and distribution of Claudin proteins in the kidney can provide ideas for the treatment of proteinuria and ion metabolism disorders and facilitate disease prevention and treatment.
