Abstract: Genomewide association studies (GWAS) has found a large number of genetic variations associated with the risk of kidney diseases. However, exploring the mechanisms of these loci still faces significant challenges. With the development of epigenetics, the studies of chromatin structure have made an important contribution to analysis of risk of kidney diseases. This article reviews the current application of chromatin onedimensional and threedimensional structures in elucidating the risks and mechanisms of kidney diseases.
