Abstract: Heatstroke is the most hazardous stage in process of heat damage,in which a shared finding is hyperthermia (i.e. rise in core body temperature when heat accumulation overrides heat dissipation during exercise or exposure to environmental heat stress). Clinically,heatstroke is characterized by central nervous system dysfunction,multiorgan failure,and extreme hyperthermia. This review focus on pathophysiological characteristics and progress of clinical treatment of heatstroke in order to improve clinical treatment of this disease.
