Abstract: The forearm transposed arteriovenous fistula is an important surgical strategy for forearm autogenous arteriovenous fistulas. Its core principle is to make full use of the forearm vascular resources. The cephalic vein or basilic vein is surgically dissected and transposed into a subcutaneous tunnel in the forearm, and then anastomosed to an appropriate artery to establish an arteriovenous fistula, thus creating a superficialized vascular access for hemodialysis puncture. Its surgical types include dorsal branch of cephalic vein transposition to radial artery fistula, cephalic vein transposition to ulnar artery fistula, basilic vein transposition to radial artery fistula,U⁃shaped transposition of forearm basilic vein to brachial artery fistula, and U⁃shaped transposition of forearm cephalic vein to brachial artery fistula. This article elaborates on the construction and key technical points of forearm transposed arteriovenous fistula.
