Abstract:

ABSTRACT  In the past decade, an abundance of evidence has detailed a more expanded array of actions for vitamin D in the body. New evidence has now established that the role of vitamin D is no longer solely restricted to its classical function of maintaining calcium and phosphate homeostasis. Vitamin D appears to play a more extensive role in chronic kidney disease and renal transplantation.
