Abstract:

ABSTRACT  The patients with maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) are associated with accelerated atherosclerosis and increased morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular disease. MHD patients are characterized by a complex plasma dyslipoproteinemic profile. Statin therapy has been proved to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events and mortality in diverse patient populations at increased risk. There has been concern about the efficacy and safety of statin in MHD patients. This review will focus on the relevant progresses of statin therapy in patients undergoing MHD treatment.
