Abstract:
ABSTRACT Initially designed to remove the inflamamatory mediators in the patients with severe sepsis, high cut-off membranes have being applicated in the treatment of myeloma kidney and rhabdomyolysis. Furthermore, high cut-off membranes have a potential for the removal of uremic toxins with large molecules in the patients with end-stage renal disease. This review is to summarize the definition, rational, techniques and advancement in the clinical application of high cut-off membranes.
