Abstract: Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID19) is a lifethreatening and highly contagious respiratory condition caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV2).On 11 March 2020,the World Health Organization announced that COVID19 has become a global pandemic. The main route of transmission is respiratory droplets and close contact. The potential mechanisms of organ involvement in these patients can be didactically divided into three aspects:cytokine damage, organ crosstalk and systemic effects.Mortality among hospitalized hemodialysis patients diagnosed with COVID19 was 30%,and literature demonstrated SARSCoV2 positivity in peritoneal dialysate. The discussion herein will review challenges and opportunities of dialysis in the global pandemic of COVID19.
