Abstract: Ｏｂｊｅｃｔｉｖｅ：To explore clinicopathological features of 3 patients with type Ⅲ hyperlipoproteinemia and renal diseases.
Ｍｅｔｈｏｄｏｌｏｇｙ：Three patients with type Ⅲ hyperlipoproteinemia and renal biopsyproven kidney diseases were retrospectively evaluated. The clinical manifestation and pathological features were analyzed.
Ｒｅｓｕｌｔｓ：All three patients (2 females and 1 male) had proteinuria,significantly elevated blood lipids and apolipoprotein E (ApoE),but without microhematuria.Histopathology revealed presence of CD68 positive foam cells in the glomerulus.Electron microscopy showed lipid vacuoles or osmiophilic lamellar bodies in the cytoplasm of foam cells.
Ｃｏｎｃｌｕｓｉｏｎ：
Renal diseases associated with type Ⅲ hyperlipoproteinemia was characterized by proteinuria,hyperlipidemia,and increased glomerular volume with foam cells infiltration.
