Abstract:

Pyroptosis is a special type of programmed cell death.It is characterized by swelling and rupture of cells,releasing of cellular contents,and a strong inflammatory response.Among those,its proinflammatory properties are the most important feature distinguishing it from apoptosis.The mechanism of pyroptosis is that receptors such as Nodlike receptors recognize bacteria,viruses and host molecules as well as toxic products,inducing assembly of inflammatory complexes,activating of caspase1.The activation of caspase1 cuts the gasdermin D (GSDMD) to produce poreforming GSDMDN inducing pore formation,and stimulates production of IL1β and IL18,aggravates inflammatory response.Pyroptosis plays an important role in kidney diseases such as ischemiareperfusion kidney injury,hypoxia reoxygenation injury，diabetic nephropathy and lupus nephritis.
