Abstract:

A 32yearold male was characterized by persistent anemia after renal transplantation, and the bone marrow examination suggested erythroid development with an absence of late normoblasts. After nucleic acid detection, the final diagnosis was pure red cell aplasia after the human parvovirus B19 (HPV B19)infection.After human gammaglobulin therapy, peripheral blood cell analysis showed HPV B19 DNA replication decreased significantly, and recovery of hemoglobin, suggesting that anemia was corrected. Therefore, patients after renal transplantation with persistent anemia of unknown origin,we need to alert HPV B19 infection.
