Abstract:
Prostacyclin (PGI2) is a member of the prostaglandin family. The major effects of PGI2 are vasodilation and inhibition of platelet aggregation.PGI2 analogs are usually used to treat patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension and intermittent claudication. Some recent studies showed that the effects of PGI2 also include antiinflammation, antiproliferation and antifibrosis. This paper has reviewed progress about the basic researches and clinical trials of PGI2in some kidney diseases, and the potential of PGI2 analogs as a therapy target of kidney diseases to improve clinical outcomes was also discussed.
