Abstract:
To investigate the status of peritoneal dialysis patients treated with in Tibet area. Methodology:The clinical and laboratory data of the patients who performed peritoneal dialysis were retrospectively analyzed in our department between May, 2011 and June, 2016. Single variable Cox regression was used to analyze the risk factors associated with peritonitis and death. Results:During the study period, 56 patients performed peritoneal dialysis in our department. The primary etiology of end stage renal disease was glomerulonephritis 43 (768%), followed by diabetic nephropathy 4 (71%). The incidence of peritonitis was 1/358 patientmonth, which was the primary cause of technique failure. The patient survival at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year was 958%、835% and 799%, respectively. The major etiologies of death were pulmonary infection and cardiac insufficiency. Higher Creactive protein level was significantly associated with death(HR:103, 95%CI:101-105, P=0004). Conclusion: The primary etiology of end stage renal disease in Tibet area was glomerulonephritis. The incidence of peritonitis was higher than those reported by experienced centers. The major etiologies of death were pulmonary infection and cardiac insufficiency. Higher Creactive protein level was significantly associated with death. Large sample study with longer followup is of interest.
