Abstract:

The difficulty in the treatment of cardiorenal syndrome（CRS） is the intertwined heart failure and renal dysfunction. Cardiac dysfunction leads to renal dysfunction, which aggravates the deterioration of cardiac function. Their common pathophysiological characteristics make it possible to correct highvolume loading as an effective treatment, such as diuretics and hemofiltration, but there are limitations, while peritoneal dialysis (PD) can also provide safe and effective ultrafiltration. This review describes the rationale and clinical practice of PD for the treatment of CRS.
