Abstract:
Kidney diseases which have high incidence, are still lack of effective biomarkers for the complex pathogenesis. In recent years, insights into long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have started to emerge because of the function in gene expression regulation at the epigenetic transcriptional and posttranscriptional levels. Studies have shown that lncRNAs have roles in tissue homeostasis and pathological processes including kidney disease and have the potential in therapy. This review will outline our current understanding of the role and function of lncRNAs in kidney disease.
