Abstract: Central venous catheter⁃related deep vein thrombosis (CRDVT) is a common and serious complication of critical care blood purification therapy. Its pathogenesis is complex, involving the interaction of disease⁃related and catheter⁃related factors. CRDVT can lead to catheter dysfunction and even severe complications such as pulmonary embolism, increasing the mortality risk in critically ill patients. Vascular ultrasound is the preferred screening tool for CRDVT, while CT venography (CTV) and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) are suitable for the definitive diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis. Prevention and treatment strategies for CRDVT emphasize a comprehensive and integrated approach. This includes ultrasound⁃guided puncture and appropriate catheter selection during insertion, dynamic monitoring and timely removal of the catheter during treatment, as well as individualized anticoagulant therapy, thrombolysis, and filter placement.
